Sreedevi Yadlapati is an internationally reputed Kuchipudi dancer, teacher, director, and choreographer. She began her journey in Indian classical dance at the age of five, learning both Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam. Her training was under esteemed gurus including Bhagavathula Venkata Rama Sarma, with whom she completed her Rangapravesam at the age of 11. She further honed her skills under A.B. Bala Kondala Rao and the legendary Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam. By the age of 19, she had earned diplomas in both Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam from Telugu University. Despite facing a significant challenge at 21 with a patellofemoral replacement on both knees, she persevered, believing dance was essential for her healing. She later pursued and completed a Master's degree in Kuchipudi from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. Yadlapati is also a graduate with a Bachelor's in Literature and Nursing. In 2000, Sreedevi Yadlapati founded Sai Nritya Academy, initially in Houston, and later relocated it to Dallas in 2011, where she serves as its artistic director. Through her academy, she is dedicated to preserving and propagating the Kuchipudi dance form among younger generations, offering training that helps students earn fine arts credits, certifications, and diplomas. She is recognized for her creative, dynamic, and versatile approach to Kuchipudi, having choreographed numerous ballets and dramas, with her first choreography dating back to when she was just 10 years old. Her performances have graced various prestigious organizations and dance festivals, and she has had the honor of performing before spiritual leaders like Satya Sai Baba and Chinmaya Nada Swamiji.
