Sreelatha Vinod is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, teacher, and researcher from India. Her training in Bharatanatyam began under Guru Tanjai Arunachalam Pillai, under whom she completed her arangetram at the age of eight. Following this, she continued her intensive training at Bharata Kalanjali under the tutelage of the renowned V.P. and Shanta Dhananjayan. She further honed her skills, receiving abhinaya training from Kalanidhi Narayanan and nattuvangam from Seetarama Sarma. Academically, Sreelatha Vinod holds an MA degree in History and Bharatanatyam, and a PhD in Bharatanatyam from Tamil University, with her doctoral study focusing on 'Adavus'. She is a faculty member for the MA program at the Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalitha Music and Fine Arts University. Throughout her career, Sreelatha Vinod has performed extensively both in India and internationally, gracing prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and the United Nations headquarters in New York. She has also toured Europe, covering six countries. As a choreographer, she has created over 25 thematic shows, including a full-cast production of 'Poornachandrika' with 64 Singapore-based dancers in 2004. She also performed at the opening night of the India Festival 2005 at the Esplanade Theatres on the Bay in Singapore. Sreelatha Vinod is the founder and director of the Anthara Centre for Performing Arts in Chennai, an institution dedicated to Indian classical arts. She is also the Managing Trustee and President of Prayathnam, a dance forum that focuses on upgrading dancers through monthly master classes and workshops.
