Vanitha Dorairaj is an Indian classical dancer and teacher specializing in Bharatanatyam. She began her dance training at the age of five under Guru Smt. Kalpagam Jayaraman in Mylapore, Chennai, India, where she was trained in the Vazhuvoor Bani style. She performed her Arangetram at the age of eleven. In 1999, Vanitha Dorairaj moved to Boston, where she established her own school for teaching Bharatanatyam. Later, in 2009, she relocated to Texas and continued her training under Smt. Vinitha Subramanian, focusing on the Pandanallur Style. Currently, Vanitha Dorairaj serves as an Associate Director at Natyalaya, a prominent dance institution in Austin, Texas. She is also an active member of the Natyalaya Teachers Performance Group and has participated in various Natyalaya productions and cultural performances at temples and other social events. Her daughter, Roshni Muthuswamy, also trained under her guidance before continuing her studies with Guru Smt. Vinitha Subramanian.
