Varsha Jawadekar is a Kathak dancer, teacher, and choreographer, and the founder of NrityaVarsha Dance Academy. She received her Visharad from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and trained in Kathak at the Nrityabharati Kathak Academy under Smt. Roshan Datye, Abha Wamburkar, and Asawari Rahalkar. She has also participated in workshops with renowned gurus such as Maneesha Satheji, Tribhuwan Maharajji, and Pt. Rajendra Ganganiji. Currently, she continues her advanced Kathak training as a disciple of Guru Shri Tribhuwan Maharaj. Jawadekar began performing at the age of seven and has since given numerous solo and group performances of Kathak, Bollywood, Lavani, and Rajasthani dances. Her performances have taken place at various organizations and festivals in India, including the Pune Festival (1999, 2000) and Nashik Festival (2001), as well as in the USA at events like Ekal Vidyalaya, India Fest, and the Asian Food Festival. She has also extended her artistic endeavors to professional theatrical plays in English, Marathi, and Gujarati in locations such as Florida, Atlanta, and Texas. As an educator, Varsha Jawadekar leads the NrityaVarsha Dance Academy, based in Austin, Texas, where she teaches Kathak. She is also a member of the International Dance Council. In May 2024, she served as an examiner for BVDU Kathak exams at Kalaxya in Atlanta, where over 30 students appeared for various levels of Kathak examinations. Beyond her dance career, she holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University and works as a Software Professional in Austin, Texas. Awards & Honours: 1st Prize, Classical Group Category (2024), 2nd Prize, Bollywood Solo Category (2024), 3rd Prize, Bollywood Group Category (2024), 1st Prize, Manmohini dance, IRCC Indian Idol Dance trophy, 1st place (2009).
