Varsha Jawadekar is a Kathak dancer, teacher, and choreographer, and the founder of NrityaVarsha Dance Academy. She received her Visharad from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and trained in Kathak at the Nrityabharati Kathak Academy under Smt. Roshan Datye, Abha Wamburkar, and Asawari Rahalkar. 2000
Performed at Pune Festival Inauguration — Performed “Lawani Kathak Jugalbandi” with Sharwari Jamenis, choreographed by Nikita Moghe. Also performed a Lavani, “Kunya gaavacha aala paakharu” choreographed by Nikita Moghe. Performed at Indian Independence Day Festival “Bharat Maajha mahaan”.
2001
Performed at Nashik Festival
2005
Choreographed and participated in a Fashion Show — Maharashtra Mandal, South Florida. Performed Kathak dance “Kahe Chhed mohe”.
2006
Choreographed and performed at Bangladesh Festival — Performed various dance segments at Asian Cultural and Food Fair.
2008
Performed at Jazz Yatra — For Sahara organization for distressed women. Choreographed and co-ordinated dance “Aika Dajiba” for Ekal Vidyalaya.
2009
Won IRCC Indian Idol Dance trophy — 1st place, Florida.
2014
Curated and Directed "Jhankaar - Kathak Recital 2014" — First Kathak concert of NrityaVarsha Dance Academy in Austin.
2015
Danced and Choreographed Lavani show and directed/choreographed a musical in Kathak — For AMM's Roupyavishkaar.
2016
Choreographed Kathak on "Aruni Kirani" — For the South Asian New Year Festival at Zilker Park.
2017
Kathak Dance Performance for Austin Spurs Basketball game — At the H-E-B Center, Cedar Park. Curated and Directed Jhankaar 2017 - a fundraising concert for CRY America.
2019
Nrityavarsha students performing classical and non-classical — At the Austin Nautanki Charity event.
2020
NrityaVarsha Dance Academy students performed at KalaSewa — Classical dance performances.
2023
NrityaVarsha Dance Students were a part of Ramlila theatrical musical — Invited to perform at various Elementary schools in RRISD and AISD. Students performed Tarana at India Dance Fest May 2023. Students were invited to perform by Austin Civic Orchestra for Orchestra Sings!.
2024
NrityaVarsha Dance Academy won multiple awards at Rise to Fame Dance Competition — Students had their own production - Navarasa 2024. Varsha Jawadekar served as an examiner for BVDU Kathak exams.
