Aditi Ramprasad is an accomplished professional classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam, an ancient Indian dance form known for its grace and expressive storytelling. Her dedication to the art has been recognized through various performances and awards. Academically, Aditi pursued and completed her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering from the SSN College of Engineering located in Chennai, India. Demonstrating a blend of artistic and intellectual pursuits, she is currently furthering her education by pursuing a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Information Science at Cornell University. Throughout her career, Aditi Ramprasad has showcased her Bharatanatyam prowess on multiple platforms. In November 2021, her online performance, titled 'Hridaya Kamalam', garnered attention and was reviewed by The Hindu newspaper. This particular presentation focused on the anahata chakra, one of the influential energy centers, and featured a diverse repertoire. Her performance commenced with a Tisra Alarippu, followed by a Jathiswaram composed by the Thanjavur Quartet in Chakravaham. The program also included a Surya Shabdam, a Taana Varnam dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi, a lively Kavadichindhu by Subramania Bharati, and an expressive Kapi raga composition by Ambujam Krishna, culminating in a thillana in Navarasa Kanada. Critics noted the clarity of her footwork and hand movements in both nritta (pure dance) and abhinaya (expressive interpretation). Aditi's talent was also highlighted in 2020 when she achieved First Place in the Sub Junior section of an International Bharatanatyam contest, an event organized by the Indian Classical Dancers Association. In the same year, she was honored with the Best Dance Performance Award for Classical Dance in the International Online Solo Competition, hosted by the Bharathanatyalaya Academy of Performing Arts. These accolades are among numerous awards she has received for her classical Bharatanatyam performances at various events held across India. Beyond her contributions to dance, Aditi also possesses artistic skills in painting, for which she has also received awards.
