Guru Rashmi Khanna is a prominent Bharatanatyam exponent, acknowledged as an adept dancer, guru, choreographer, and special educator. She is the Director and founding member of Kalyani Kala Mandir, a classical dance institution established in April 2002 in New Delhi, India. The institution is named after her guru, Smt. Kalyani Shekar, under whom Rashmi Khanna began her training in the Dandayudapanipillai style of Bharatanatyam at the age of seven. Kalyani Kala Mandir operates with the mission of preserving and promoting India's traditional and classical dance forms, fostering awareness and interest among younger generations, and providing a platform for aspiring dancers. The academy regularly stages annual Bharatanatyam presentations, including "Prerna Utsav" since 2003 and "Abhyuday" since 2017 for senior disciples. It has successfully celebrated 14 Arangetrams, which are solo debut performances. The institution also offers Carnatic vocal music and Nattuvangam classes. Kalyani Kala Mandir is affiliated with the World University of Design, Sonepat, offering students opportunities to pursue Bachelor's and Master's degrees in performing arts. Additionally, it is associated with the International Dance Council, Paris, a non-profit organization under UNESCO, which provides internationally recognized certification in Dance.
