Kanika Roy is an exponent of Odissi Dance, having trained since childhood. She received her initial training under Guru Mayadhar Raut at Sri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra in New Delhi, and further honed her skills under Guru Ambika Panicker. Roy holds a Master's Degree in Performing Arts in Classical Dance (Odissi). Her career includes performances at prestigious venues such as Delhi Doordarshan and Pragati Maidan, as well as various national and international cultural events. She also served as a Junior Research Fellow at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA). With over fifteen years of experience in the teaching profession, Kanika Roy imparts Odissi dance education and continues her own training under Ambika Paniker to achieve higher levels of expertise. She has also organized numerous cultural events and choreographed semi-classical and folk dance recitals for school children, and has utilized dance therapy for counseling.
