Kirti Ramgopal is an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer from Bangalore, India, recognized as one of the brightest talents of her generation. Her journey in Indian classical dance began at a young age, driven by a deep fascination for Bharatanatyam's intricate blend of rhythm, rhyme, and expression. She received her foundational training from Smt. Padmini Ramachandran, a distinguished guru. Further enriching her artistic prowess, Kirti was mentored and guided by eminent dancers Smt. Priyadarshini Govind and Sri. A. Lakshman. She continues to refine her abhinaya (expressive dance) under the tutelage of Smt. Bragha Bessell. Throughout her career, Kirti Ramgopal has captivated audiences with her vibrant, expressive, and joyful performances, characterized by lively skill, geometric precision, nimbleness, grace, and sensitivity. Critics have lauded her for her nuanced abhinaya and precise execution of movements, maintaining the essential 'angashuddam' and 'aramandi' postures of Bharatanatyam. She is also recognized for her choreographic abilities, having composed nritta for varnams and imaginatively planned narratives in her performances. Kirti's extensive performance career has taken her across India and internationally, with tours spanning the US, Canada, UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Bangladesh. She is an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) since 2007, a testament to her artistic standing. Beyond performing, Kirti is also a dedicated teacher, imparting her knowledge to the next generation of dancers. Notably, she has trained students like Krithika Krishnamurthy, who received a national scholarship for dance.
