Lavanya Thamire is a prominent Kuchipudi dancer, teacher, and the Managing Director of Kalanidhi Dance, a renowned Kuchipudi institution based in the United States. Her journey in Kuchipudi began at the age of nine in India. She furthered her training through summer workshops in Visakhapatnam with Smt. Bala Kondala Rao, a leading disciple of Master Vempati Chinna Satyam. After a hiatus, Thamire joined Kalanidhi Dance as a student in 2005, where she deeply connected with the institution's style and training under the guidance of her guru, Smt. Anuradha Nehru. She also received training from guru Sri Jai Kishore Mosalikanti during Kalanidhi's summer camp sessions. Thamire's leadership role at Kalanidhi Dance grew steadily. She became a member of the performing Dance Company in 2007 and began teaching in 2008. Her Rangapravesham, or debut solo performance, took place in 2008. She rose to become the Education Director of Kalanidhi's dance school in 2013 and was appointed Managing Director in 2023. As a company dancer, Lavanya Thamire has toured with Kalanidhi Dance throughout the United States and India, and as a teacher, she has influenced hundreds of students.
