Megha Jagawat is a distinguished Kathak dancer, choreographer, and co-founder of Triwat, an international dance school with a presence in Paris and Jaipur. Her journey in dance began at the tender age of four, under the initial guidance of her mother. She formally commenced her Kathak training in 1998, embracing the traditional guru-shishya parampara. Megha Jagawat honed her skills under the tutelage of the esteemed Pandit Girdhari Maharaj, a maestro of the Jaipur gharana. She furthered her academic pursuits, graduating with a Master of Dance from Bhatkhande University, Lucknow, in 2005-2006. Beyond Kathak, Jagawat has also received training in various Indian folk dances, including Kalbeliya, Lavani, and Bhangra. Her artistic career is marked by numerous international performances, gracing stages at events such as the “Opéra Carmen” in Strasbourg, the “Festival Sfinks” in Belgium, and the “24 heures du Raga” at the Cité de la Musique in Paris. She is also a recognized compere for Rajasthan Doordarshan and All India Radio, and has anchored for private and international channels. As an educator, Megha Jagawat has been teaching dance for over fifteen years in both India and France, regularly conducting workshops worldwide. Alongside her husband, Kamal Kant, she co-founded Triwat in 2008, where she teaches Indian dance. They also run the "Triwat Voyage" project, bringing students to their gurukul, Shri Laxmi Narayan Nrityashram, for training in music and dance.
