Dr. Sangeetha Rajan is an accomplished Indian classical dancer specializing in the Odissi style, and a senior disciple of Guru Smt. Debi Basu. She has performed extensively both in India and internationally, gracing prestigious stages such as the ICCR (Mumbai), NCPA, Sri Shanmukhananda Sabha, Sri Narada Gana Sabha, and at Indian Embassies in Tokyo, Beijing, Milan, and the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society. Rajan is the founder and leader of The Urban Temple Dance Repertory, an institution dedicated to Odissi dance. She holds the esteemed title of Sringaar Mani for her excellence in Odissi dance and has been a member of the International Council for Dance (CID-UNESCO) since 2013. While primarily known for Odissi, Sangeetha Rajan initially began her dance career as a Bharatanatyam dancer before embracing the graceful Odissi style. Her choreographic work has also received recognition, including a nomination for Best Choreography at the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards in 2018. Beyond her contributions to classical dance, Dr. Rajan is also a qualified psychologist and a people development professional. She holds a Masters in Psychology, an MBA in Personnel Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur, a PhD in Social Sciences from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and an LLB. She is also a co-founder of The Arts Quotient, a company that integrates arts-based insights into business leadership and team development.
