Tanmay Samaddar is an Indian classical Odissi dancer, performer, and teacher. He grew up in Bekidanga, a village on the outskirts of Raiganj, and later moved to Kolkata to pursue his passion for dance. He received his training in Odissi dance under the guidance of Guru Smt. Shatabdi Mallick (also known as Shatabdi Dey Mallick), following the style of the late Guru Shree Debaprasad Dash. Samaddar is a National Senior Scholarship Holder from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and a B Graded Artist with Prasar Bharati Doordarshan Kolkata. His career highlights include winning first place at a dance competition at the West Bengal State Academy. He has performed at significant events such as India's Nama Dance Festival and the Udaya Shankar Dance Festival, where his solo performance on December 11, 2022, earned accolades from renowned Dance Guru Smt. Thankamuni Kutty. He has also performed at the International Odissi Festival in 2025, the Ghat Sandhya in Assi Ghat, Varanasi on June 6, 2026, and the 55th Iskcon Kolkata Rath Yatra on July 16, 2026. Tanmay Samaddar teaches Odissi, Rabindra Nritya, and Creative Dance, with his teaching experience dating back to approximately 2018.
