Sangita Kalanidhi K. Ponniah Pillai (1888-1945) was a scion of the Tanjore Quartet and a fifth-generation descendant of Sivanandam. A great scholar of music and dance, he was the father of K. P. Kittappa Pillai and K. P. Sivanandam. (Distinct from the Quartet's Ponnaiah Pillai, 1804-1864.)
